Why do children have meltdowns after school? This can be a difficult question to answer, especially if you’re a parent who has ever witnessed your child having one of these intense emotional episodes in public. Chances are, you feel embarrassed, frustrated, and helpless when it happens – much like I did the first time my son had an meltdown outside our local grocery store when he was in kindergarten.
The problem
Most kids will experience a meltdown at some point in their lives. There are many reasons for this, but the most common is that they are tired and hungry. They may also be experiencing emotional frustration or feeling overwhelmed, which can happen when they’re taking on too much or when they don’t feel like they have enough control over their day. Kids might also have a meltdown because of sensory overload (i.e., too many sights, sounds, or smells).
The effects of stress
It’s important to understand why kids may be feeling stressed and having a hard time coping with their day. Here are some of the most common reasons for stress:
-Kids might get frustrated when they don’t know how to solve a problem in math or reading and then get angry, sad, or scared.
-Kids might be upset because they missed out on playing with friends during recess or lunchtime.
Ways to cope with stress
It’s not uncommon for children to feel stressed or anxious when they come home from a long day at school. It’s hard enough for adults to get through the workday without feeling frazzled, so imagine how much harder it is for children who are at a developmental stage where they’re still learning things and trying to figure out life. As parents, one of the best things you can do is try to understand your child’s emotions by asking him questions and listening to his answers.
How CBD oil helps with anxiety
A study published in the Journal of Psychopharmacology found that CBD oil reduced anxiety in both healthy adults and children. This is due to the way CBD interacts with the body’s serotonin receptors, which are responsible for maintaining our mood.
What is CBD oil?
CBD oil is a type of oil that can be extracted from the hemp plant and contains little to no THC, which is the chemical that gets people high. CBD is often used by those who suffer from anxiety or insomnia. It also has been used to help treat seizures, pain and inflammation.
