It’s never fun when you screw up, especially with the person you love most in the world. Whether it’s forgetting her birthday or constantly pushing her away when she needs you the most, there are plenty of ways men have hurt their wives without even realizing it. Don’t beat yourself up about it, though! It’s time to make things right and get back on track with your relationship. The next time you screw up, try any of these five tips to apologize to your wife and make things right again.
1) Apologize
I want you to know how sorry I am for what I did and I hope that you can forgive me. What I did was wrong, and I’m so sorry. I’ll never hurt you again.
I am deeply sorry for what happened. You deserve better than this and I will do everything in my power to make it up to you.
2) Plan a date night
Find a new restaurant she’s been wanting to try and make reservations. If you’re like me and have no idea what she wants for dinner, ask her sister or a close friend what she likes. Next, find a way to surprise her with your knowledge of her interests by bringing up an event from the past that you two were both involved in. As well as being thoughtful, this will also show that you pay attention to what she does and enjoy spending time with her. Finally, get creative!
3) Plan a weekend getaway
- Cooking a romantic meal together.
- Plan a surprise date night with a movie and dinner at her favorite restaurant.
- Buy her flowers, chocolates, and a card telling her how much you love and appreciate her.
- Tell her she deserves the best of everything for all that she does for you every day.
- Spend time with just the two of you doing something she enjoys like watching TV or taking a walk together in nature
4) Do her chores
It can be really hard when your partner is angry with you, but if you’re able to get past the anger, she might be able to forgive and forget. Doing her chores as a form of apology will not only show her that you care, but it will also give her a break from doing all the household tasks.
-The dishes: When she’s done making dinner, offer to do the dishes for her. She’ll probably appreciate the help and this will save both of you time in the future.
5) Buy her something thoughtful
- Buy her favorite flowers
- Send her a card with a sweet message
- Cook her one of her favorite meals for dinner
- Buy her favorite dessert and share it with her 5. Write a love poem or song for her
